We are seeking passionate and knowledgeable individuals to join the Quinte Health team as a Clinical Extern - Electronic Medical Record Implementation. In this role, you will be responsible for educating hospital staff and teams on the implementation and utilization of our new electronic medical record (EMR), being implemented on December 6, 2024. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that all users are proficient in navigating the EMR system effectively, thereby optimizing patient care and operational efficiency within the hospital. Clinical Externs will be partnered with current Quinte Health staff in the Professional Practice department to collaborate on the creation of education resources, education of teams and socialization of workflow changes related to the new EMR.
• Enrolled in a:o Registered Nursing program (RN) and entering the 3rd or 4th year of the programo Registered Practical Nursing program (RPN) and entering the final year of the programo Registered Respiratory Therapy programo Physiotherapy programo Occupational Therapy programo Paramedic Program and entering the 2nd year of the programo Undergraduate Medical Program and entering the final year of the program• High technical literacy and proficiency in Microsoft office suite and other relevant software applications• Understanding of adult learning principles and change management principles• Detail oriented with strong organizational, motivation and organization skills• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to diverse audiences in diverse settings• Recent clinical experience at Quinte Health preferred• Current CPR or BLS certificate• Evidence of good academic standing including one professional or academic nursing reference
• Collaborate with the Professional Practice Team to develop and implement educational resources for various hospital departments and staff members on the functionalities and workflow changes within the Lumeo (Cerner Millenium) EMR• Liaises with the interdisciplinary team and Professional Practice to assess training needs and educational strategies used• Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions• Provides ongoing support and assistance to users• Stays updated on advancements and changes within the system with the assistance of the local and regional implementation teams
