Position Summary

The Facility Service Representative (FSR) reports to the Team Lead of Hospitality Services. FSRs are responsible for the cleaning of non-patient care units, waste, linen, project work, moves and meeting room set ups for hospital events.

Required

• Grade 12 education or equivalent combination of education and experience,
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers,
• Must be able to work well in a team environment,
• Must be positive and contribute actively to workplace solutions,
• Demonstrated concern for the care and comfort of patients,
• Ability to read, follow instructions, and basic math skills,
• Must have satisfactory work performance in present position,
• Must have previous proven good attendance record,
• Must be able to perform heavy lifting,
• Ability to be flexible and adapt easily to changes in schedule, work assignments, and environment,
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and accomplish tasks in a fast-paced environment,
• Must successfully complete the required training program within probationary period,
• Ability to safely work with a variety to industrial housekeeping chemicals,
• Ability to perform overhead cleaning, and
• Must be comfortable working on a safety ladder.

Preferred:
• Previous experience with hospital housekeeping duties,
• Previous experience safely operating hospital grade equipment (auto scrubbers, burnishers, swing machines and steamers),
• Previous experience in housekeeping floor refinishing including stripping, waxing of floors and carpet cleaning,
• Previous experience safely operating an industrial washer and dryer, and
• Familiarity and comfort utilizing basic technology (computers, pagers and smartphones).

Duties

• Performs core cleaning duties to ensure cleanliness of common and non-patient areas, internally and externally as well as equipment contained within QHC,
• Restocks supplies in each area,
• Laundry duties includes inventory, distribution and online ordering,
• Operates industrial washer and dryer,
• Performs all duties related to core housekeeping services including collecting, disposing, and transportation of waste, confidential waste, supplies, materials and equipment according to specified guidelines,
• Participates in scheduled cleaning projects as required,
• Operates, maintains the cleanliness of compactor, shredder and bailer, processes all related material according to established guidelines, and maintains appropriate records,
• Identifies maintenance needs to Team Leader,
• Transports specific equipment and supplies to other proper locations or storage areas within each hospital location in accordance with safe handling techniques.

• Required Occasionally – fine finger movements, reaching, handling, gripping/grasping.
